Maiko Bae Yamamoto and Minoru Yamamoto are featured in the Georgia Straight.

Minoru came to Vancouver in 1970 from Yokohama.  His daughter Maiko has been burning up the small theatre Vancouver arts scene by co-founding boca del lupo and writing creations such as Empty Orchestra and many others.

Theatre
Replacement and the Powell Street Festival present six new works of
theatre for the tiny stage. BOX THEATRE is a series of one-person shows
for a one-person audience, featuring BOX SPRING by Adrienne Wong,
BALLOT BOX by Spencer Herbert, CHATTER BOX by Camille Gingras, ULTRA
BOX/TOY BOX by Kris Nelson, IDIOT BOX by James Long and MATCH BOX by
Maiko Bae Yamamoto. Using a combination of text, tiny props, and a
little magic, actor and audience share the most intimate of performance
experiences inside a theatre that is a small box worn on the actor‚s
shoulders.

Times are – Saturday 4:30 – 6:30 in the firehall
                Sunday
 12- 2 at Oppenheimer Park (400 Powell)
